Pan De Amerikana

"Philippines famous Giant Pandesals"

So, I've heard of this place in Marikina that gives a vintage ambiance and their trademark is that they serve really big Pandesals. I read a lot of reviews about it and I promised I myself I'll be able to eat here before I die hoho!

Pan De Amerikana's interior design is MAGNIFICENT! Camera is a recommendation if you're planning to eat here. Every corner is worth the shot!

So let me share my experience on my first visit in Pan De Amerikana (MARIKINA-CONCEPCION BRANCH). So I'm now  on my way to my legal age and I was looking for a bubbly place for my photoshoot. And this was my first choice and without further adieu, after my make-up and hair styling at the parlor nearest Pan De Amerikana (G Salon), we went there. (It was just a tricycle away; 10php each from G Salon)

We arrived at around 10:45am and I was surprised to see an almost empty dining area and I was so happy because I won't be too conscious later on our photoshoot since the place was almost empty. Unfortunately, there's a pre-nuptial photoshoot ongoing and that was a big problem for us since the place (or the place for photoshoot) is quite small. So we decided to eat our lunch first and proceeded to the cashier.

They serve Filipino classic dishes. They have breakfast meals (until 10:30 only) like the Si-Log meals and lutong bahay dishes.

Our orders were: (2) Liempo, Dinakdakan, Everlasting (Whole Embutido) and 7 cups of rice. All in all, that was just 455php. 4 main dishes and 7 cups of rice for just 455php is cheap!
Liempo was 65php per plate. Each rice costs 15php. I can't remember the price of Dinakdakan but I think it's more or less 65php and the whole Embutido which was good for 4-5 pax was more or less 160php.

All I can say is you get what you paid for. If you miss the classics, I suggest to eat here because the ambiance is really an A++. You don't just enjoy the food, you'll also be amazed by the structure of this place.

The cashier asked us if we have a schedule for our photoshoot (because she saw me all ready dressed up) and I was really surprised to know that there should be a schedule before having a photoshoot at Pan De Amerikana. I was really depressed when they told me that I have to schedule first. We pleaded to ask her manager to let us have our photoshoot even without schedule and after a few minutes, she told us that we can and we were only given 1 hour to do it (and that was really really a short period of time for a photoshoot) but we still thanked them. (Phew!)
REMINDER: IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO HAVE YOUR PHOTOSHOOT HERE, GIVE THEM A CALL FIRST! I'M PRETTY SURE THEY WON'T ALLOW THIS (walk-in schedule/photoshoot) TO HAPPEN AGAIN :)

So we did our photo shoot short and quick and here are a few of the takes! :)

Hanging bridge is located at the top of the dining area. You'll find your way at the
stairs near the kalesa and washroom for girls.

At around 11:30am, the place started to be filled and at around 12 noon, the place was already full! So I suggest, if you want to eat your lunch here, you'll go either for early lunch or for late lunch if you want to eat peacefully :)

Pan De Amerikana has a new branch in Katipunan and their Interior Design theme is an upside down house. I pass by it sometimes. I heard that their ceiling are designed by an upside down dining area.

How to go: Ride a jeep going to Montalban (Montalban-Cubao) or SSS and tell the driver to drop you at Concepcion Market. From there, you can ride a tricycle at the terminal going to Pan de Amerikana.
